As a result of his publication and publicity of this discovery and at his urging, Japanese Canadian communities across Canada celebrated a Centennial Year in 1977. His research also culminated in the publication of Nikkei Legacy in which he chronicled many of the interesting adventures and trials of the early pioneers.
